Being blind is not an obstacle
Dalil is an Object recognition and navigation System for visually impaired peopleDalil is your Eyes on the environment
Making The Life of Visually impaired people Easier
Dalil( Guide in Arabic) is a system that helps the blind to navigate in an unknown environment through object and obstacle detection. The solution consists of camera glasses linked to a smartphone application. The input is extracted directly from the glasses so the visually impaired person won’t have to hold or carry any device with them or in their hand and the output will be provided in the form of vocal instructions

Computer Science in the service of Visual Impaired person
Innovative Solution To solve a part of their problems
Imagine this: your friend invited you to dinner at a new restaurant downtown but to get there you need to walk to the bus stop, take the number 8 to the train station and take the train into the city. Easy enough ,Right?! Now Imagine making that trip without being able to see .It is a challenge that 314 million visually impaired people face every day. Even with expert mobility skills and the use of a cane or a guiding dog navigation and environment detection and recognition can be stressful for people with blindness. It takes hours and hours of practice to confidently learn a path or a certain pattern or an environment and even familiar surroundings can still contain difficult or unexpected obstacles like silent cars or cyclists, new constructions or delayed buses like what could occur in our example. In the United States and the United Kingdom, about 65% of people with blindness are out of work .If this is the case for such countries with great infrastructures , imagine what it’s like for people with disabilities in less developed countries. Mobility, object detection and independence remain some of the biggest challenges for people with visual impairment.
